Description

These Fukusuke ELLETOP panty stockings are a quintessential example of Japanese hosiery from the Showa era. Produced by the historic Fukusuke Corporation, which dates back to the 19th century, this specific 'ELLETOP' line reflects the transition into modern synthetic legwear. The packaging features a classic retro aesthetic, with a soft-focus portrait of a model in a blue headscarf, characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century Japanese marketing. The physical packaging consists of a white paper envelope with a rectangular cutout at the top to display the actual fabric, and a secondary cardboard insert that holds the product flat, revealing the sheer 15 denier knit.

Technically, these stockings are distinguished by their use of 100% Nylon 66, a polymer known for superior durability and a higher melting point compared to standard Nylon 6. The Japanese text translates the product's benefits as having 'outstanding elasticity for a soft wearing feel' and a 'soft touch for a perfect fit.' These are 'Free Size' garments designed for heights between 148cm and 164cm and hip measurements between 81cm and 97cm. The color is officially listed as Light Brown (color code 52), providing a natural, sheer look typical of vintage office or formal wear.

As a piece of hosiery history, these stockings represent the era before elastane (spandex) became the universal standard for stretch. Instead, the 'perfect fit' was achieved through the high-quality Nylon 66 fibers and the specific knitting tension. The bottom of the packaging includes the manufacturer's mark 'Fukusuke Panty Stocking' and the price code 'K-OS 1000', which suggests an original retail price of 1,000 Yen. This item is a valuable reference for collectors of vintage hosiery and those studying the evolution of Japanese textile manufacturing.
